When you record a meeting or upload a file, the audio is sent over an encrypted connection to our server (noter.orbenta.co) to be transcribed and turned into notes. The audio file, the transcript and the notes are kept on the server for up to 7 days so you can rewrite the notes with another engine, then deleted automatically. Your recordings, transcripts and notes live on your phone, and playback always uses the copy on your phone.
You can use the app without an account. If you sign in, we store your email address and the name you give, and we send you a one time sign-in code by email. When you choose to email meeting notes, the addresses you enter are used only to deliver that email; the notes are sent from noter@orbenta.co with your address as the reply-to.
Transcription and note writing use these providers under their API terms: Groq (Whisper speech recognition and open models) and, on the Pro plan, Anthropic (Claude models). These providers receive the audio or transcript needed to do the work and do not receive your name, email or device identifier. We do not use Google Gemini at this time.
An anonymous device identifier (a one way hash), the device name you gave your phone, the app version, your plan and the number of minutes processed each month so we can enforce the free allowance. We do not collect contacts, location or an advertising identifier.
You are responsible for getting consent from everyone you record where the law requires it. The app shows a visible recording indicator and an ongoing notification whenever it is listening.
In the app open Settings and tap "Delete my data". This removes every recording and note from the phone and deletes the device record, usage and any pending jobs from the server immediately. You can also email hello@orbenta.co.
The app is not directed at children under 13.
